I don’t know why I take pictures in Halifax in the winter, it’s the capital city of dense cloud and fog, and low, flat light. I typically go for more punchy contrast but it’s impossible for much of the winter. I walked across the city to a friend’s house for supper on Boxing Day and wanted to finish a roll of film. It was less than an hour before sunset so it was already getting dark, and the thick clouds didn’t help.
Normally I wouldn’t have even bothered but I’m trying to be less perfectionist minded and just shoot. Maybe I’ll look back on this photo with less frustration.
