I have this little photography project going where I photograph utility connections on the side of buildings. I don’t know why I like the subject so much but it makes me smile when I see all these meters and cables on the side of a building. I particularly like this mess which is on the side of a house right next to the sidewalk. I often wonder how often those wires are cut or tampered with, they’re so exposed.
In and around my neighbourhood in Halifax there are lots and lots of opportunities to capture these artifacts of modern living. I can fill a roll of film on just a few streets.
