In June 2015 a friend and I headed for a little adventure in South America. Peru was the destination, a beautiful country of incredible scenery, warm, colourful, proud people and some of the best food you could imagine. One of my favourite stops during our walk around the Miraflores district of Lima was the "cat park". Chill cats everywhere! — Cats, Kennedy Park

The very first thing we were served in Cuzco was coca tea, to help deal with the altitude. It was surprisingly lovely. — Coca tea, Cusco

On the way to the Lares Trek trailhead we stopped off for some fruit and bread. — Local market

Waiting for the sun to peek up over the peaks at Machu Picchu. With the low clouds it was eerie and magical. — Sunrise over the Andes

You have to get up really early and be on one of the first busses up to the site but it's worth it to see the incredible place suddenly come alive with the sun. — Sunrise over Machu Picchu

Love these doorways to courtyards. I wonder what their internet speeds were like. — Street internet

Beautiful cobbled streets. Pay attention! There are cars flying around these streets. — Narrow street, Cusco

Everything is green in the rainforest. With a vibrancy you can't believe is natural. — Rainforest leaves

It was a bit of a hike to get here but worth it. We were asked by some local high-school students if they could practice English with us. I got that in China too. — Historic Lima

So full of energy, history and life. Lima is a wonderful visit! — Lima street
